Happy Release Day Duck Duck Grey Duck
What a Trip!
This has to have been a huge traffic jam or the accumulation of many of them to write twenty-five pop songs in the back of a tour van. That is exactly what the trio Duck Duck Grey Duck from the borders of Lac Leman did. They probably wrote more but difficult decisions were made and only a selection made it onto the record.
Which is available from today on 12″ vinyl with gatefold cover, a digipak CD and digitally on whatever service provider you choose. GRAB YOUR COPY RIGHT HERE
Duck Duck Grey Duck deliver a true cornucopia of their collected input that has built up since the beginnings of the band fifteen years ago. After two years of focus, passion and experimenting the band presents speed, tranquility, groove and disturbance: four themes are spread out over the four sides of vinyl: Back Beat, Pop & Fast, French Collision and Acid & Sweat. Each chapter dyed with a different air, yet they’re all connected in a fascinating way. You will hear influences from Elvin Jones to Coltrane, Charles Mingus to Funkadelic, Lou Reed, The Stranglers and The Sonics.
Traffic Jam puts two years of work and life of the band onto tape, adventurous and without limits. This is their comeback after the debut Here are… – released by our buddies Casbah Records by the way – and a statement for sincerity and honesty, three ducks swimming against the Soundcloud and Youtube mainstream and delivering a perfect helping of post vintage pop.
Lend them your heart and ears – you won’t regret this trip.
