Ensemble Werktag

Ensemble Werktag consists of Tobias Gerber (Saxophone), Rafael Rütti (Piano), and Sebastian Hofmann (Drums). It brings to life contemporary music and evolves in the tension field between composition and improvisation. The ensemble is dadicated to works of great artists such as Vinko Globokar, Iannis Xenakis or Olga Neuwirth. It also puts in an effort to Perform compositions of lesser established artists and is also active in the field of improvisation.
The trio which doesn’t see itself as a trio but more like a mini-alliance that occasionally likes to breach the boundries of the chamber music trio format, is penchant for complex settings that involve accoustic instruments and live-electronic settups. Which they profoundly demonstrate on the WERKTAG/CHESSEX/BUESS release which is available on vinyl.
