It’s burning – in the macro- and microcosm! District Five dedicate «Burning City» to the latter and offer a piece of a different kind: Between saxophone solo, spherical sounds and an impressive vocal performance by Vojko Huter, the quartet leaves us with a live gift that will make the Christmas tree burn ablaze. Or else, quoted from the comment columns of YouTube on which the song was first published in 2021 as part of the m4music festival: «Au nachem 10. Mal lose immerno de schönschti Tune für mich das Jahr! (Even on listening this for the 10th time still the most beautiful tune this year.)»
The second song of this release is in no way inferior to the first: «U never said much» is the most impressive testimony of a Swiss band in 2021: with this song, the former jazz quartet District Five advances to an experimental formation that finally eludes all genres. With the live version of the track «U never said much», the band not only thrilled the m4music festival, the most important event in the Swiss music industry, but the whole scene in general: a multifaceted statement with few words.
