«Fotograf», Single no. 2 from the upcoming Fai Baba album «Veränderet» leads into the world of spaghetti-western. But if you think of Eastwood or Morricone, you’ll only enjoy it for its instrumental parts. Otherwise, it’s about longing: In «Fotograf», Fai Baba conjures up the story of a photographer. He – if he is completely honest with himself – would rather be a kiosk salesman and would like to sell Gipfeli (croissants) or Schläckzüg (sweets) instead of portraying stars. Polo Hofer’s Kiosk romanticism 2.0 without Polo, so to speak. Or Swiss-Neo-Folk at its best. And in the words of Fai Baba’s yoga teacher, who is precisely this photographer and who received the original version of the song as a mobile phone recording: «This song is an earworm.»
