UFO

Formats: Digital
Category:

For this folk song, which begins with a introductory synthesizer miniature, UFO teams up with the singer Anna Hirsch (Ikarus). In Rand Anna Hirsch weaves polyphonic meandering vocal lines over a guitar foundation suggested by Lukas Huber that is only seemingly aimless.

UFO override the (unwritten) law of the «front-person-having-to-be-the-identification-figure»; the law that the «face» of the band consistently remains the same: UFO try to experience / make available ideas about (collective) authorship in a band through a consistent «body»: UFO (essentially: Lukas Huber, Michael Anklin and Robert Torche) is the body, whereas the guest-artists and guest-performers and listeners become the faces!

The upcoming album IV (…) will extend over the next twenty-four months or more. UFO wrote (and continues to write) at least twelve songs, hosting twelve guest vocalists and instrumentalists, so far ranging from Pop, Rap, Indie, New Music, Jazz and beyond. UFO invited them to contribute lyrics, vocals, instrumental building blocks and arrangements: Zooey Aggro (13 Year Cicada, Tommy Lobo), Martin Schenker (Alois), Legion Seven, Rea Dubach (Omni Selassi), Jannik Giger, Daniela Weinmann (Odd Beholder), Marlon McNeill (Combineharvester), Nives Onori (mantocliff), Raphael Rossé (mantocliff), Anna Hirsch (Ikarus) und Claire Huguenin (Jibcae).
